Piece's Description
Piece's Description
“Space is not empty — it shapes what we see, what we place, and what we choose to leave behind.”
Guided by the wabi-sabi philosophy, Le Vide explores the balance between presence and absence. Its sculptural form is defined as much by its openings as by its structure, creating a composition of solid and void that feels calm, intentional, and architectural.
Crafted from pine wood and veneer, its soft, matte surface enhances the purity of its shape. With balanced proportions — 79 × 33 × 81 cm — it functions as both a bookshelf and a sculptural object, allowing books, objects, and empty space to coexist.

Materials & Craftsmanship
Materials
Crafted from pine wood with a veneer finish, selected for its stability and ability to achieve a smooth, continuous surface. The exterior is treated with a matte coating, creating a soft, mineral-like appearance that reduces visual noise and emphasizes form.
Craftsmanship
The structure is built using panel construction techniques, reinforced internally for stability while maintaining a clean exterior. The curved openings are formed through precision CNC shaping, then refined with manual sanding to soften transitions and edges.
The surface is finished using layered coating and hand-finishing, ensuring a uniform tone while preserving subtle variations that give the piece depth and character.
